Seven months ago on this day - my mother passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer's. I think of her daily, feel her presence with both joy and sadness through moments of my day. We lost her in stages, the illness robbing her of self and her self from family. I'll never overcome this feeling of loss and tragic ending - but it will merge with the greater sense of love, patience and forgivness she has left with me. That is her true legacy - a teacher to the end and still beyond.
