The Yoga of Distance Running - Verse 1:3





Physical sensations -cold
and heat, pleasure and pain -
are transient: they come and go;
so bear them patiently, Arjuna.
                                            (Bhagavad Gita 2:14)

We are stillness - the very depth of our being. Our bodies, gifted as the
means to know distance. Yet the Self, residing in stillness, we
remain. From this depth we watch all things pass -
unaffected by the world at large.
It's this still-point of being, the Self, that is the runner. We rest our
awareness here and allow the body to endure. Miles pass and
time follows - and still we are the witness.
Smiling at it all.
