The Tao of Distance Running - #80

Although they have boats and carriages,
no one uses them.

~
Our steps are pure and simple...falling
holy on the ground in
union.

And so the miles become our answered prayers.

  • Run simple. We live in a high tech world - yet all we need is an open door and the world is our path. Tools and gadgets are fun and there is no need to discount them but they are fluff to the essence of the run. Simplifying a run is a means of immersing ourselves into the experience. We could be stripped of all but trail and soul and still be joyful in our run. We are content in the way things are and happy in a state of constant change. Simply put - we are present.

Peace,
Eric
