Running Free of Expectations

We run in the void of expectations...and empty of
thoughts that held us falsely to
a single moment -
Our stride is filled with promise.

~
Expectations are not a promise. They often hold little more than a hope we wish to achieve. This can be a chain that binds us to a harsh reality. To hold expectations tightly is to invite a crash. To truly run free we strive to be responsive and not reactive. An expectation or a goal that's not reached can cause us to react in manner that is harmful to our peace of mind. To a runner who is fluid not just in stride but in thought and spirit- all things are responded to as a wonder that holds great promise and revelations. Every step becomes a success because we meet the ground in acceptance and gratitude. Free of expectations we run as a celebration of what is - not just for what we wished for.

Peace,
Eric
