The Tao of Distance Running - #74

If you realize that all things change,
there is nothing you will try to hold on to.

~

Every step a brief mystery - the earth revealed to
moments in a stride. Distance stretches as a
question. And surrendering to the
absence of an answer -
Our footfalls echo in reply.

From contact and again to moments hanging in the air - each step -completion.

Run free from the confines of expectations. True confidence comes from knowing that in the face of constant change we hold to on to nothing. We accept, surrender and maneuver in the spaciousness of possibilities. In this way distance becomes less a challenge than a play of infinite lives lived within a moment. We still have goals and strong desires we wish fulfilled - yet we hold them lightly and allow the miles to spread before us in endless wonder. We run certain of change - and unafraid of what it offers.

Peace,
Eric
