Tenderness Beneath The Bodhi Tree

as the Buddha sat beneath the Bodhi tree, seeking enlightenment, it was not a challenge, nor act of defiance to keep his inner demons at bay - no, it was an invitation expressed in the subtle language of acceptance, tenderness given to each attack, intimacy with what appears and equal care to all that passes. It was a willingness to simply be in the faith of change and mystery.
Our own Bodhi tree is this very moment - and too there
are demons at hand.
Right now, we are the Buddha...open, willing, inviting all to
meet in the same tenderness of our
acceptance.
