Original Mantra

The only and original mantra is silence - an absence of sound so complete that every thought and word emerges first in subtle vibration, as if to carry just a bit further the holiness of their origin. Our voice is an instrument that lends itself as a caress through silent grounds. To be truly mindful is not to be without thought or in giving no attention to passing sounds, but to note the ever present spaciousness that remains still, deeply silent, and allowing - all things again settle in this. It's who we are and all we have to do to remember this - is to listen.

Peace,
Eric

Untouched By World

We remain untouched by the world - yet only so in the pure light of our awareness. Our truth is that there is a singular reality of existence. Everything is simply the appearance of One. In this regard the world is no more separate from us than air against our skin, we find ourselves as subtle layers of it all, spaciousness dancing with itself in given form. We remain untouched for there is nothing apart from us, an embrace of one thing against itself in unconditional acceptance and love. Everything belongs - there is nowhere else for things to be.
It's all in perfect order.

~
Through distance we see that even a mark to designate arrival is still embraced by the immeasurable. A runner is always in the middle of that in which they seek to know.

Peace,
Eric

Less Of Me

Touched by sun, and I am again nothing other than a particle of light, observing the sky and I am joined as passing cloud. There is less of me then I once believed - yet more to my existence than thoughts alone could hold.

~
Running - and distance still remains. It all fits in one existence.

Peace,
Eric

My Own Headless Sutra

It's a sutra of my own understanding - a returned view opened in display. There is my absence in form, a clear space of headless wonder, and too the world at once in vivid detail. My own pleasure is to find the mark of my emergence and back again to formless nature, to see at no point is one separate from the other, I am the capacity to serve the world in details. It's my own headless sutra - seeing, and giving rise to all that's seen.

~
The Buddhist Heart Sutra provides us with the allowance of form being no less than its own formless nature and reversed again in the same understanding. As form, we are not met by distance, but a solid part of its embrace. There is no place untouched by our existence.

Peace,
Eric

We're Seeing

The directive is to see - and in this light we're shown exactly who we are. Yet it's a subtle trick we play, believing proof is found by object and not simply by sight alone. The truth is that we are the seeing, an open view laid out directly from the source of all. It's a meditation of the obvious, what's happening now - from sight, to sound, and every thought - occurs within a headless realm. There is no seer apart from scene. There's only this - and the awareness that it's so. We're seeing.

~
There is no step apart from distance.

Peace,
Eric

Shifting Perspective

Shifting perspective - we are undone in favor of the world. It's the seamless view returned in our direction, no line found as the worlds departure and our own beginning, one thing appearing in shared existence to the next. It's who we are as seen in the absence of long imagined borders of thought and body. Shifting perspective - we trace sight directly to its source, searching for a hint to show us who we are. Nothing solid will be found. Yet still the world exists, still there is an aware understanding that right here is where the world belongs, and still we see it all as our own perfection.

~
While running - shift perspective from distance being a measured mark to be acquired, to simply allowing distance to unfold as our own spaciousness, ready to be explored.

Peace,
Eric

And Back Again Without A Moment Gone

So subtle in the suddenness of appearance...and now for
however long the moment lasts -

We find ourselves as
form.

~
There is always existence, never a moment where we are absent from the whole - even if our appearance as we are right now is brief in given form. This is truly a gift, right now we are at once clear abiding awareness, as well as a singular aspect unique within existence. To appreciate this, we can turn our attention back towards the beginning of our view, where nothing is found but the suddenness of the world and our own appearance. We come to form in such a subtle fashion from this empty space, first there's nothing but a wakeful understanding, and then we are, fully formed, living in the world of objects. Yet now we are fluid in this understanding, attention shifting to our own Heart Sutra of form/emptiness and back again without a moment gone. Now we're seeing.

~
Try this as meditation on the run - a shift of nothing but perspective: We are distance, as well as form in motion, traveling within aspects of our own self, and no place left to go.

Peace,
Eric

Parted By The Grace You Hold

and in true devotion - I give way to myself, parted by the grace you hold in space and view, with only beauty to be known now. It's holiness that is offered. We trade ourselves in an exchange of borrowed form, first emptiness for the will to become, and then all the follows in a solid world. Nothing could be holier than this, a gift given truly for the sake of allowing another to simply be. Our own absence is the promised land.

~
Running is a devotional art, or in yogic terms - Bhakti. Nothing is really asked from distance but to expand, no step seeks anything other than the ground presently given, and every breath is a sacred exchange of life and air. This practice only takes recognition. Run. It's a holy act of devotion.

Peace,
Eric

Beauty Held In Spacious Wonder

I find myself in the details you provide - from the near end of my view the world begins from nothingness to the sole point of holding you. This gift is distinct in the form of its offering, my own headless space a template for the grace of your becoming, and in return I am filled with the sense of our belonging now as one. It's a trade made fair by beauty held in spacious wonder. We provide this too for all that meets within our view - our capacity a clear allowance for things to be in their own perfection, reflecting back to us exactly who we are.

~
So running provides this - a world that just wait to become within our view, to show us who we are with each step along the way. It's a beautiful thing.

Peace,
Eric

The Joy Of Seeing

There is a joy in seeing, in recognizing who we are through both ends of the view. Everything remains the same, there is no light gained that wasn't there before - yet now we see the world again for the very first time. To trace our gaze back to a faceless source, finding an empty awareness that somehow expands to what we know as earth, and sky, and infinitely on wards - to see, to see that this too is really our becoming, yes, this is the joy of truly seeing.

Peace,
Eric

Nearer Still

To hold the world - not just in view, but embraced as air against flesh, and steps touched to ground, and nearer still to the point that it's all our continuation. Simply look - and see that it is so.

~
We run - and distance remains a constant reach of our own existence. It's never diminished, and neither are we.

Peace,
Eric

Running As A Distance Writer

There is always a page waiting - empty of all save a
promise to hold
words
~
In this light too, we are shown that distance is of no regard in terms of that which may be measured - it's emptiness always given as an invitation to be met by our own expansion.

Peace,
Eric

Just As It Is

Just as it is - and even loss is an accepted pain within awareness. Nothing needs to be denied, or wished away as an illusion. Everything is real for the moment held in our belief. Yet just as it is, right now, there is the spaciousness of our reality, open, an endless embrace of love without condition. Our suffering is not diminished, but welcomed in this space. Just as it is.

~
Distance expands to every step taken.

Eric

In Faith Of Silent Revelations

It's the asking - our questions don't lead to answers, but to a spaciousness that allows our thoughts to roam. We inquire to a higher truth of who we are, of our location within a seamless order, we ask in faith of silent revelations. In this light, our questions are surrounded by the very truth they come to know.

~
Even our steps are an inquiry into our own seamless nature - each one a connection to both sky and ground.

Peace,
Eric

It's Always Right Here (A Meditation On The Whole)

It's always right here - our practice is not to note particular aspects of the whole but to be recognized as the spaciousness that allows it all to be. Our true meditation is simply looking. Is there anything that occurs within the view that does not belong within our capacity to hold it in awareness? We are mindful that it all belongs. Everything. Our true meditation is to include ourselves within the view, to see if a self is found at all, to note a presence but no form there to divide it from the whole. It's always right here - all we have to do is look.

~
Running, looking, recognizing ourselves in the process - a constant, joyful meditation.

Eric

It's A Beautiful Thing

From the One - yet each expressed in full distinction. There is a shared spaciousness that allows for the appearance of all things. It's the first and only reality, and lends itself to an endless array of possible expressions. This life is on of them. In this regard, we are artists in self-portrait against a canvass of  our own existence. One thing in continuous creation of itself. It's a beautiful thing to be part of.

~
Run, as if this too was a divine expression - because it is.

Peace,
Eric

In An Obvious Way

In an obvious way - the view is our becoming. Our perspective shifts first in effort to find the source that holds the view. Looking back towards the origin of our gaze - only absence will be found. We are faceless to our our sight, empty, yet somehow still aware. In this direction, we have become again the truth of who we are - here, we find an open capacity that spreads in endless allowance. All things are welcome to become. Now, we follow from what seems an outward flow to see that each object is seamless from another, indeed, intimate in the nature of their belonging. Further still we come to know ourselves without dividing lines of separation. What is seen - can only be an aspect of our own becoming. In an obvious way - we are seeing.

~
For me, running is an exercise in this becoming - to find myself in expanded view of distance, as well as narrowed to a single step and the piece of ground that meets it. Running, is simply seeing who we are through the grace of motion. In truth - it's simply seeing.

Peace,
Eric

I Am

I Am - and all included.

Our presence is not merely form and certainly not captured in word or thought - and yet these are not excluded. We are the essence that exists before a single thing arises. We remain in their passing. More so we are the spaciousness that allows the world motion and the light that shares itself in creation. We say, I Am - and so it is to be.

~
Running as I Am - means running as the whole.

Peace,
Eric

Nothing Has To Change

Nothing has to change - there is perfection found in the moment now offered. Yet in this very acceptance comes a profound peace that feels like a shift to something other. In fact, we have simply returned to our true nature, an openness that allows all things their time, indeed, a recognition that all things belong for a mystery and perhaps purpose of their own. Nothing has to change, but they will. Be patient. Be kind. View the world from the source of our own becoming, this spaciousness found at the near end of our gaze - here, it all belongs in perfect timing.

~
Keep running.

Peace,
Eric

We Bring Beauty

We bring beauty - perceived through each distinction arising in the world. Nothing is settled until observed. It starts first as an empty allowance with only a promise to be filled, awareness before the details of attention. It's the potentiality for things to be. This is who we are, presence not yet in given form. From this, our own spaciousness, we give attention for things to be, the world becomes as our surroundings. We bring beauty.

~
Perceive the world in beauty - it's temporal form is our own reflection. We too are brief in this appearance. Who we truly are is what offers its perception for the world to be. It's as if an artist carried a canvass as their own surrounding, painting life in its becoming. Yet the canvass is endless in potential, constantly empty in its capacity to be filled. In regards to running - we have distance, always expanding, inviting, it too is endless in its offer.

Peace,
Eric

God Being God

Our prayer rug - yet found constant beneath the
given steps of our
devotion.

We find ourselves now on holy ground.

~
Running is no less a prayer than any other holy order - our steps and breath commune with earth and sky, a sacrament given and one again received. God is not found in nature but revealed and as well is our true nature shown. It's all in the simplicity of allowing things to be, God being God is now seen as a tree reaching both its branches high to heaven and roots offered deep within the earth. Just as easily seen is our own divinity - from this spacious source of our beginning as runner, as tree, and too as God. We touch at once both earth and heaven. In truth it's all seen as one.

Peace,
Eric

Sadness Found Holy

and even our sadness is found holy - a feeling so tender in its moment our world opens in the spaciousness of its embrace. Our presence denies nothing, each object, thought, feeling, is cherished in its belonging. In our sense of solidity we lose faith in our capacity to hold all things as holy. Perhaps this is why the heart breaks, returning to its true nature, holding all the world again it its embrace.

~
Our own solidity is broken through distance - we come to the allowing place of our own true nature. Each step embraced by what it seeks to explore.

Peace,
Eric

Beyond Mindfulness

and now - we find it less important to be mindful of breath and thought, to bring our attention back to present moment. Now we simply look, aware, abiding in the emptiness at the near end of our gaze - reminding ourselves that we are space for breath and thought to wander.

~
It's a simple meditation for running - distance is here, this step, now. There's no place else we have to be.

Peace,
Eric

It's So Simple

It's so simple - two views meet at once from where we're looking, merging, seamless in their flow of spaciousness to form and back again. Who we are is the infinite given sides, formlessness inviting worlds to be within our view view. We are the space that carves distinction into beauty, as well as the object now defined. It's so simple - look first from the open source of our reality, and see what we become.

~
We are the source from which the path unfolds - and each step furthers our becoming.

Peace,
Eric

Holy Ground

and really, there is no space between us not wished in invitation - once found in view there is an immediacy of belonging, one thing in recognition of itself in hidden form. And so we come to see space as our own extension offering itself for our fulfillment, objects given a moment to become, and others found as our reflection. Really, the space between is holy ground.

~
We run on holy ground.

Peace,
Eric

No Agenda

No agenda - our plans belong within a spaciousness that holds nothing to a promise. There is a greater awareness at play, and we are but a moments part within an infinite allowance of what may be. Surrendering to this, we are free to cherish each attended detail, even as we give ourselves away to something larger, something beyond the care of what a moment offers to a timeless reality of love without condition. We surrender to our truest self.

~
We run with plans, but in the end it all comes down to love. Every detail passes, only love remains. Knowing this - every step is our surrender.

Peace,
Eric

Participant Award

We are not built as form, held as a wall against the greater press of infinite surroundings  - no, we are gathered light within the spread of all existence. Our bodies participate as the whole, seen in distance we are one things, spaciousness dancing in an intricate pattern with itself, a momentary print, unique, in an endless array of possibilities. In this regard we are central in location, at no point being less or more than it all. Our solidity a brief illusion given to stars and ground to know their touch. If it seems we are a wall, don't believe the illusion - we are participants in a great caress.

Eric

The World As Self-fulfillment

We view the world in self-fulfillment - our capacity giving of itself in empty invitation for all things to appear. We are at once template and creation laid across, our spaciousness serving the world to arise in detail. There is nothing separate from our point of being, the infinite our own expansion, each object a distinction of our own.

~
Running is no less than our own expansion and every step provides detail and meaning we assign.

Peace,
Eric
