As Only A Flame Can Love

The candle gives its life in
devotion to the flame.

A death slowed in the stillness
of ecstasy's hand.

The candle prays in lessening tears.

Dissolving of its self with every
drop that falls.

I love you as the candle loves
the flame -

My all to this fire that consumes.

Yet more...I love as only the flame
can love -

Burning solely to feed
the candles desire.

`
Love is like this - a lessening of self to something larger, something greater than a lone desire. We don't love small. We love in order to be love. It's our grand design - a completion of a circle where only love is known and only love is returned too. In between we learn to give.

Peace,
Eric
