The Art of Smiling

The art of smiling:

my own smile has grown more gentle, an easiness present, as if a heaviness of self-disappointment has now been lifted. I've always been my own harshest critic, never needing someone else's  harsh judgement, yet readily believing it if it came my way. There's an art to true forgiveness, and through the years I've polishing my craft. Small things at first, slights that would seem to linger, little mistakes I've made that seemed to snowball in importance through the years. I'm an artist now, not perfect, but I have the tools of transformation at hand, recognizing the raw material my life has given me and using them to shape the beauty of that gentle smile.

forgiveness truly does offer every I want.

I'm an artist at last.

Smiling As We Practice

Smiling while we practice:

so A Course in Miracles tells us that anger is never justified, a difficult, yet critical thought for us to understand. This in no way means bypassing anger, nor suppressing it, but to simply acknowledge it as an inner response to a misinterpretation of an outer situation. With acknowledgement we than offer it to the Holy Spirit for correction, a reinterpretation in the light of a more loving intelligence. What's profound about this idea is that our lives now move from the yoga mat and meditation cushion to a continuous practice of mindfulness, that our every interaction becomes a transcendental moment, a tantric expression of the lowest emotional patterns transformed to a greater understanding. This should be a very gentle practice, with a great deal of tenderness and care applied to the process.

we are quite literally asking the Holy Spirit to help us heal the world.

one mindful moment at a time.

so be patient,

kind,

smiling while we practice.

I love you, Eric
