Undone;
starting with negation, right from the beginning A Course in Miracles states that our entire thinking process is wrong and doesn't even explain why. We are asked to trust. What's assumed here is that we've been led to this teaching by our own frustration with life, whatever degree of suffering we've endured has been enough to cause us to explore another option.
so we begin a process of undoing.
finally.
and with this we strip away the first layer, asking us to look around our present surroundings and state that nothing we see has any true meaning of its own. There was a time, several starting points actually, that I never made it past this very first lesson. Too many things claimed a portion of my mind, meaningful, in deeply personal ways.
of course that didn't matter.
nothing I saw had any inherent meaning of its own.
everything assigned value by my mind.
and it all had to be undone...
then seen anew.
shining in the light of absolute love.
