Meaningless thoughts:
lesson 4 in A Course in Miracles tells me that none of my thoughts have any meaning, no hierarchy, not a single one more significant than the other. What I find now, after decades of reading the Course and doing the workbook lessons, is that understanding one point made here is pretty much knowing the entirety of every lesson, and indeed, there'd be no reason to continue further. There's the essence of the message within almost every lesson and sentence.
in fact, this lesson is repeated in similar form more than once.
my thoughts no not mean anything.
lesson 10.
in between these two lessons I'm shown that the reason for this being true is that my thoughts are preoccupied with the past and then projecting them towards the future. The present moment, until this is clearly seen, is largely a receptacle for my meaningless thoughts. Sadly,as these thoughts then proceed to show me a meaningless world.
it's here, lesson 10, that a hint of clarity is dropped.
that this idea will help release me from all that I now believe.
finally.
a glimpse of freedom shown.
from this point on the world makes sense, or begins too.
I've created the world I see, meaningless thoughts of past judgments and beliefs have trapped me in an illusory world, my own creation and only my present state of love can move me away from this imprisonment.
it's about remembering who, and what...
I am.
as easy as that.

Peace, Eric
