Grandeur

Grandeur:

we're simply asked to note the difference, being always the same, yet cloaked through various expression of life and so easily overlooked. A Course in Miracles calls this the grandeur of God versus the grandiosity of ego, how the first causes illusions to drop away and the other brings us deeper into our own self importance.

grandeur is reality.

it's the absence of an individual sense of self.

and we're left in awe with every notice.

grandiosity is a puff of self worship, it covers a deep despair of loneliness and fear, masking our false belief of separation with forceful bravado. We could just call it ego. It's always small and calls us to display our littleness with a purpose that's harmful to the world, keeping us trapped in illusion that has no room for the actuality of love.

yet grandiosity will part for the light of truth.

and reality always shines through.

grandeur is our nature.

it's who we are.

we're simply asked to note the difference between illusion and reality...

choosing only what is real.

Give Away

Give away:

at this time in my life I wish for quiet, a contemplative life, and to not rejoin the rush of busyness that seems to accompany today's reality. I'm fortunate with few needs, just the maintenance of a paid home and the bills and taxes that go along with that. However, of course, there is still need of income and I'm attempting to earn this through my own creative means.

mainly, through talking, if that's at all possible. Honestly, I'm not sure it is, it's a chance as well as opportunity to see if extending love truly provides. I'm both excited and scared to see how this grand experiment of giving and receiving will unfold.

it's my own surrender experiment.

and now we'll see...

what I truly have to give away.

One Light

One light:

what we're seeing now is an expansion of fear, war spreading through the world, political discord causing neighbors to be distrustful of each other and families split apart over heated issues. I have no answers here, not politically so at least - but I do believe the antidote to fear is love.

and so that is what I offer.

as best I'm able.

A Course in Miracles states that the opposite of fear is love, yet also, what is all encompassing truly has no opposite and this is all that has to be realized. To get this is to understand the entirety of the Course, and then we only have to live it, demonstrating it to ourselves until; the message spreads further. This is done quietly so, softly, and with the courage of introspection. The inquiry is always in asking if we're extending love or choosing fear, forgiving ourselves for our forgetfulness, and then simply remembering once again to offer only love.

a simple, easy inquiry.

and life provides the means for our practice.

it seems to me, that this is truly the only way to heal the world. It's up to me, a small part, yes, but it's the first light that extends itself to others. It's up to you, the first light too, and I will accept the love you offer - and in this way we heal the world.

one light at a time.

Bare Essentials

Bare essentials:

it's now reduced to just a few simple things, like the simplicity of breath and the gentle stretch of body, a quiet, contemplative moment or two, kindness to all, gratefulness, and being able to forgive myself and others -that's the entirety of my spiritual path.

nothing more is needed.

at a certain point in life, or so it has been for me, everything else is let go of, all but these few essential practices are maintained, and truly, they're not really a practice. They're more an expression of my deepest, surest self that's now offered to the world.

I'm no longer interested in acquiring more knowledge.

it's time to give myself away

down to the point of bare essentials.

and live my life from here.

Complete Reversal

Complete reversal:

what's asked for is a complete reversal, turning entirely away from all that the ego offers, arriving to another way to view the world. We are asked to know and listen to the Holy Spirit only. This is foreign to us only to a small degree, initially, but then quickly males sense as a greater peace is found. The Holy Spirit, as offered here, isn't an entity that forces its way upon us, it's our own most quiet voice, familiar and intimate. We've known this voice our whole lives but have shouted it down in favor of a quick approval by ego.

yet now, familiar once more...

we listen,

and forgive.

truly so.

the ego forgives only through conditions, false bargains traded between us, that I pardon you for a certain misbehavior that offends me in some self important way. The Holy Spirit calls for a complete reversal of this thinking. There is no error here, only innocence that's been presently forgotten, and all that's asked of us is to remember, to see correctly that we're all sinless and already forgiven.

we're asked to see each  others through the eyes of Love

that's all.

it's not impossible, in fact, it's how we already see the world. We've just fogged the view temporarily, seeing clouds instead of our true clear sky nature. The Holy Spirit gently wipes the clouds away, a voice whispering through the fog, guiding , urging us to remember that we already reside in original innocence, untouched by clouds or fog.

so yes, a complete reversal,

but also a return.

forgiveness is just remembering...

who we truly are,

Illusory World

Illusory world:

I don't necessarily believe the metaphysics of A Course in Miracles, and after decades of study the language still doesn't always resonate with me. But the simplicity and practicality of its message, the clear directive to forgive deeply and continuously, making no distinctions as to the size of grievances - there's been no greater gift to me than this practice.

an illusory world makes sense in a certain way, fitting nicely along side the thought of maya, as well as putting the onus of awakening squarely on my very shoulders. I am an idea in the mind of God, yet asleep and dreaming of a troubled existence. There it is, a nice cosmology, that God didn't create a meaningless world, I did, collectively with others and now our responsibility is to awaken.

I like a clear directive.

but it doesn't have to be true.

even if it is.

so for my own peace of mind, my sanity really, my role is only to forgive. I don't have to believe anything other than the immediate peace that's found through this quiet practice, making no announcements, just gently extending myself through the world, healing, surrendering,

illusory world or otherwise...

I forgive.

Catching On

Catching on:

there's a certain impossibility to forgiveness, it so often seems far beyond control, as if time itself plays a vital role in preparing us to let go, and nothing will budge us in that direction until it's decided that we're ready. Except that time has already surrendered its hold on our resentments, every judgement is a thought that must be repeatedly brought back to mind -

and truthfully,

our wounds have already healed,

everything's forgiven.

we just haven't caught on...

at least not yet.

so really, forgiveness is simply the recognition of what's actually present right now, the innocence of this moment -and then residing here without intrusion from the illusions of the past. More so, it's offering this same recognition to others, a shared innocence, inviting them to a similar forgiveness. That's it, there's nothing more to be done...we're healed.

already.

only now we're catching on.
