Relationships:

I've been thinking of relationships lately, considering their scope and the extent of their reach—and it's been lovely to find that no one is absent from my care, not even slightly. We are kin, connected by a dreamed-up world that waits for our awakening. My own suffering is the cause for yours, believing that I've somehow stepped past the reach of God, and now stranded, endlessly searching for home. I've kept you trapped with me, enclosing you in a belief system of desperation and isolation, denying our true and most intimate relationship—that we both share a single Christ between us.

and that thought is our awakening.

so you are my dearest relationship, my salvation, truly. And I find you everywhere now, not even a search is needed. You're never absent from my thoughts or reach. Remarkably, and so often, you appear in the least likely place that I would have previously looked for—you are present within everyone that I used to keep distant, refusing to acknowledge you there, as I believed you were once the cause of all my suffering. But I'm aware now, available to receive you in whatever guise you offer.

I'm ready to awaken.

and you are my salvation.

thank you.

I finally see you, never truly hidden at all.

you were merely waiting for my truest eyes to open.

A Beautiful Thing

A beautiful thing: 

what a beautiful thing to come to know, realizing that every relationship is meant for my own transformation, a holy encounter that has the potential for my awakening. Really, life has become a continuous practice of self-inquiry now, a form of jhana yoga in which I only seek the truth of who I am, and this is not possible without you. Forgiveness, and what an earlier edition of A Course in Miracles calls "consistent courtesy' is the means of this seeing, a profound recognition that defies initial appearance and settles into an inquiry of our reality. There is only love present. That's the bottom line of every relationship, even the briefest point of contact with someone contains the entirety of heaven. 

with no exception.

and so there's really no need for seeking, enlightenment is at the ready, a holy encounter brought to view in every moment. I look with new eyes upon the world, eager to find myself in a strangers smile or casual passing - and even more so in those difficult opportunities that seem to break me completely open with their potential. These moments are ripe for our awakening, and the truth is, it only takes one person to realize the holiness shared between us. Your forgiveness blesses me, and becomes another seed planted for my own awakening. And I wish the same blessing for you.

Imagine

Imagine: 

it's the shift from transactional relationships to a purely holy love, surrendering the belief that anything is needed from another for our own completion to be be true. This is a very different way of viewing the world, an evolution of relationships to their highest order. Imagine if the bottom line was always about service to each other, how we could help the least among us feel that they belonged, and that everyone knew that they were loved simply for who they really are. Imagine if this was our only goal and the loving world that we would then see.

a simple shift...

and our world would change forever.

Holy Relationships

Holy relationships: 

as with all things, we asked to bring our relationships to the Holy Spirit, allowing a shift to take us away from demands towards the purpose of divine love. What it takes is willingness, just a little as A Course in Miracles is fond of reminding us, and it begins with the recognition that we don't truly know what anything is for, including our relationships. Yet the Holy Spirit does. So with this our every trigger, each familiar pattern we believed served us somehow, is now an offering to the Holy Spirit, laid at the alter of a higher understanding. We simply ask...

show me the way.

and thus, 

transformed. 

our relationships now serving our salvation.

holy.
