Never Just

it's never just - there is always a seamless inclusion that tells a greater story. This autumn leaf, drifting from branch to ground, carried through a reach of air belonging to the farthest touch of stars, and now my own observation joins within the whole. One leaf is the sum total of existence - everything traced back in continuation of infinite appearances.
It was never just a leaf - there was
always our inclusion.

Without

without - and that's our inquiry, of what's found with each label now discarded, exploring what remains in space that once held our most cherished beliefs of who we think we are. There's no need for great effort or the use of imagination - simply take aware one idea of identity, without the thought of being a Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, or even placing value on a faith at all, what's left now? If not self assigned to any political party, or concepts believed to define the issues of our time - is there really a line drawn for our division? We can take this inquiry far into an exploration of what we are right now without the addition of thoughts and beliefs that cloud our true sky nature. It's a simple matter of asking...

It's Enough To Know - I am

where do we begin - and in the absence of finding a single point of becoming, do we exist as a separate self apart from the whole of all existence? I find my own reach to simply be an equal embrace of space and form - no break from air to skin and back again. My view is inclusive to what's found, demanding nothing other than the entirety of its field of vision. Every sense takes only what is given, making nothing of its own, responding from the still point of being. I make no effort to think, breathe, feel, see or hear. It's all one great occurrence to which I am grateful to find myself in belonging. I have no idea how this all came to be, why I find myself aware of this occurring moment of existence. It's all a mystery.
And it's enough to know - I am.

Yet Only, Fully, As Existence

I exist - yet only as
existence,

yet still a life is fully lived.

~
There is no sense in denial of what seems and feels as an individual life, even if in light of inquiry no such self is found. We appear as an aspect of the whole, given to moments of feeling as if we're separate and alone. Top awaken is simply regaining sight of our completion, just as a a flower opens from the bud, reaching out through space and light, rooted firmly to nourishing earth, yet at once never found separate from either. There is no denying its essence as a flower, and too the reality of its one existence as earth, air and light.
It's all one thing touched upon itself in imagined union.
An aspect never breaking from the whole.
I exist - yet only,
fully, as
existence.

Eric

Room

room for this too - and there is, always. Perhaps this should be our true mantra, a soft repeated remembering of what we are as spacious capacity and too in our finite humanness. It's nothing special, we are expansive by nature, an allowing presence of indiscriminative taste. This happens entirely beyond our own volition, indeed, even our refusal of this acceptance instantly becomes accepted without terms or demand to be otherwise. There is always room for what's occurring, and room too for what's to come. It's simply what we are.

On The Basis of Nothing

on the basis of
nothing,

beliefs layered to a false
self constructed

~
It seems pointless to argue on the reality of self- we can deconstruct ego and come to a conclusion that points to a realty absent of any fundamental sense of self. We can literally point to our own empty nature and "see" what this absence holds. Yet this dismissal also seems to do a disservice to our appearance as a unique person belonging in the world. What appears is sacred by virtue of its brevity of being, our singular moment to this expression of the whole. This particular sense of self will/may never occur again and should be treasured for the mystery and miracle of its appearance. At the same time, a full embrace of its impermanence, fragility, and tendency to grasp for a lasting sense of purpose will open us to the spaciousness that surrounds and pervades this sense of self. We are - and we're not. At once. Our freedom lies in this acceptance. In this light we are truly in the world, but not of it - yet even more, we are capacity for the world, as well as a unique, extraordinary aspect of it.

Each Instant Stands Alone

it doesn't have to be anything other than this, whatever now the moment holds - each instant stands alone, empty of any true influence outside of its existence, always fulfilling itself with exactly, and only what's occurring right now.

To this - our natural surrender.
