Projections

Projections: 

such a belief, thinking that others are ever the cause for what say and do, believing that an external factor holds sway on any of our actions. Yet this is how we navigate through the world, indeed, A Course in Miracles states that is is literally that reason we created the world to begin with - as a scapegoat for our guilt to be projected upon and then judged harshly. 

and of course we're now trapped in a reactionary world.

but we don't have to be.

we have dreamed this world into being and we can awaken, 

or begin to, at anytime. 

like right now.

 here's how we do so - begin to give to others that which we most deeply seek, extending peace, not as an olive branch, but as an act of cultivating a sense of reconciliation within ourselves. We become whole only when we accept the entirety of who we truly are, and this is a complete inclusion of others. There are no walls between us, none, and as we explore the inner conditions we've projected outwards the imaginary walls begin to crumble. 

and then,

 we forgive our projections.

our perception then shifting from judgement to grace, 

peace being all we wish for. 

and all we offer.

Our Only Goal

Our only goal: 

with peace being the first and only goal - and that's the primary principle that A Course in Miracles offers, setting our sights on this outcome even as we believe that we wish for something other. What's discovered here is that the true peace of God is all that matters. Everything else is simply an illusion that temporarily distracts us from our ultimate goal. 

again, it's the peace God that matters.

what this means is settling into the soft reality of love, our underlying essence, and allowing ourselves to recognize this truth in others. Peace is synonymous with love - and both are just terms used in the description of God. To know ourselves as love is to be at home in God. 

and that's where peace is found. 

our only goal.

A Quiet Revolution

A quiet revolution: 

political season, but then it always feels as if we're now in a perpetual challenge of choosing sides and being asked to divide ourselves against each other. We're watchful and mistrustful of our neighbors motives, concerned about what candidate's sign might be posted in their yard. It's always political season these days it seems. And it's tiresome, deeply so, all the way to the bone level - 

to the point of the soul actually. 

so I'm done.

just like that, 

I refuse to join a side against another, anyone, politically or otherwise. Yes, I have my preference and for good reasons. There's a list of concerns that keep me going to the polls to vote for what I feel are vital challenges to the world. But I also know that the only meaningful change that will truly make any difference is from within ourselves. Until we confront our own inner divide we're simply spinning wheels endlessly, replaying the same scenario through different times.  

what I'm asking for is a quiet revolution. 

but not for anyone else.

this is my own task at hand, a healing opportunity, going within to the very source of my projections that I've placed upon the world. With this action I will change everything, literally so, or at least my own perceptions. A small healing perhaps, but profound -

and a ripple effect place in motion.

Everything We Need

Everything we need:

forgiveness offers everything I need - those are the words offered in Lesson 122 of A Course in Miracles and they immediately strike me with the absence of mentioning another. This lesson is all about me and that's vitally important with forgiveness. Yes, others most certainly do benefit from our practice, the world itself becomes a brighter place due to the change of our perception. But forgiveness is a gift we give to ourselves, no one else is really involved accept for a brief moment recalled as we let transgressions go, surrendering to our new reality.

forgiveness offers everything we need.

what we gain here is tremendous, we have freed energy for our benefit, serenity follows, and true peace becomes an actuality. It's amazing to consider, so much effort given to holding onto a the past, grievances consuming such a large amount of our creativity and vitality. Letting go of resents heals us, we're free, lighter, and have so much more to give to the world. 

honestly, it takes so little effort...

we just let go,

accepting only the present moment.

continuously so.

until we truly see that only love is real.

My Only Real Ambition

My only real ambition: 

here's my mission -just moving quietly through life with least disturbance, extending myself as love, and healing the world I see through forgiving each projection of my mind. It's an inner job, no one else is really involved aside from whatever role they come to offer. No one causes me an issue to forgive, they only serve as reminders for my own interpretation of situations and events, providing me with a vital opportunity to now see the world another way. 

that's it,

my only real ambition.
