Everything We Need

Everything we need:

forgiveness offers everything I need - those are the words offered in Lesson 122 of A Course in Miracles and they immediately strike me with the absence of mentioning another. This lesson is all about me and that's vitally important with forgiveness. Yes, others most certainly do benefit from our practice, the world itself becomes a brighter place due to the change of our perception. But forgiveness is a gift we give to ourselves, no one else is really involved accept for a brief moment recalled as we let transgressions go, surrendering to our new reality.

forgiveness offers everything we need.

what we gain here is tremendous, we have freed energy for our benefit, serenity follows, and true peace becomes an actuality. It's amazing to consider, so much effort given to holding onto a the past, grievances consuming such a large amount of our creativity and vitality. Letting go of resents heals us, we're free, lighter, and have so much more to give to the world.

honestly, it takes so little effort...

we just let go,

accepting only the present moment.

continuously so.

until we truly see that only love is real.

Love and Practice

Love and practice:

the agenda for me was always words on a page, my first and only goal of writing was - to write, every day, and nothing beyond that held any great importance. It's been well over 25 years since that vow was made it's been easily kept, writing daily as a practice without concern of meaning, just happy that words arrive to me so freely and almost always feel inspired.

I'd like this practice to extend another 25 years.

or even longer.

but I'm happy going day by day.

lately I've added something extra to this list of daily practice, filming, making sure that I open myself to whatever sight that nature offers and sharing it with others. There's no prerequisite except that it captures my imagination, that's it's unique to my perspective alone, as if the entire universe conspired to deliver me to the exact moment of my inspiration.

and who knows?

perhaps it did.

that's how easy art is, and everyone's an artist. It's simply a matter of showing up daily, committed, and then falling in love with the actual practice of our craft. Love and practice are two key words here, as it's all a practice and that allows us the freedom of imperfection - and love is the force that keep us committed every day.

it's a simply formula,

love and practice...

it works so well for me.

Hours of God

Hours of God:

and so arrives the hours of God, Brahma Muhurta, a period of existing as a window of time just before dawn and then briefly after the sun first appears. It's from here that the mysteries of the cosmos calls to us, daring us to awaken and experience our true potentiality. This is where our greatest ideas happen, inspiration appears unbidden, and we are gifted with a deep silence in which we hear the whispered voice of God and secrets of creation are revealed.

I wouldn't miss it for the world.

and in fact I wake early to prepare for its arrival, giving some time for cleansing breathwork, meditation, and several rounds of sun salutation as a fully body stretch of prayer. I want to be ready for the very first whisper heard, at be at my desk when inspiration comes with a gift of words. As well, I wish to experience this time in nature, finishing my writing and heading out the door no matter what the weather might offer. It's all sacred during this period, in these hours of God, everything feels so truly gifted and I'm eager to show my appreciation by experiencing it all.

these are the hours of God,

but only for those who wake early for their arrival.

and surrender to their mystery.
