Time

Time:

and my days are being repurposed, their hours now used by the Holy Spirit to bring me back in loving alignment with my true purpose. Time has become an instrument of choice, scalpel like in its precision. There is an opportunity for me within each moment to choose love over ego's quick judgement of people and events, forgiving the illusion of time's presence for believing that such a choice is even possible.

and so the only real use of time...is to fall within the holy instant,

choiceless, 

 awakening in eternity.

Depth-Charge of Sight

Depth-charge of sight:

and so what we give is only love a bright revelation of identity and truth - today we learn to give as we receive and at once we're shown exactly who we truly are. This is shown through a greater vision than eyesight alone. We're asked to see each other with the eyes of Christ, a depth-charge of sight that acts in sharp focus on bringing awareness only to what belongs to God. Anything else is an illusion and simply doesn't register within the holy instant that we're giving. Within this sight, instantly, we're transformed in the very same light that we've offered another. 

we've received our revelation.

and know exactly who we truly are.

Always and Only

Always and only: 

God loves you now. What a surprise those words were to me yesterday morning, having been read dozens of times over years of studying A Course In Miracles, and yet this was the first time I received them in the holy instant they meant to for. They were experienced as an actual presence, not just glanced over and then continuing on with reading, but imparting a momentary pause of the world - everything stopped. And I knew that they were true. Yesterday morning, I didn't just read those words, I heard them whispered through the breath of the Holy Spirit, spoken by the presence of Jesus within my mind. 

God loves me now.

and it's always right now, never not this actual present moment. This is when God loves us, and examining the very instant we receive these words - we find we're innocent, free, beyond any claim of judgement and past opinions, resolved of every former grievance we once held against ourselves and others. Only now...and this is when God loves us. 

it's how God loves us.

right now.

and it's always, 

only,

now.

A Sacred Pause

A sacred pause: 

perhaps what we most need right now is a return to sabbath, maybe not even a whole day, but just a sacred moment shared between us. We are desperate for rest and don't even realize it. Not only are we deprived of sleep, something deeper too is missing, what A Course in Miracles would call the Holy Instant, a stillness so profound that nothing exist outside this restful moment. 

we're in need of a sacred pause.

this is available to us, always, and it's not just found on a mediation cushion, or an hour's service once a week. The Holy Instant is right now and we only have to extend it as a thought towards another. Anyone, regardless of creed or political party, family or stranger - it's available now, always now, and it's simply a matter of recognizing the essence of Christ that's shared between us. It's restful because that vast amount of energy used to maintain the entire thought system of the ego is momentarily suspended and the inherent love of our existence is allowed to shine through. We drop any pretense of being anything other than our truest, most loving selves. 

an eternity shared for just an instant.

our deepest rest.

available right now, 

only now...

and it begins here as I offer it to you.

This Holy Instant

This holy instant: 

if done by calendar year the workbook of A Course in Miracles will soon bring us to the extension of this holy instant, giving us a conclusion, as well as clear steps forward. Our purpose is defined now, assured, and it couldn't be more simple - our life is given to the Holy Spirit, guided by this grace, and it begins when we offer ourselves fully to this present moment. With no clinging to the past, nor thoughts projected upon tomorrow...

this holy instant we would give to You.

thy will be done.

Tenderness

Tenderness: 

it's been so often a choice, consciously choosing a loving thought over the first impulse of the ego. But now this holy instant seems to come unbidden, a spontaneous burst of absolute love that almost overwhelms me in the tenderness that it offers. Without any doubt I know myself as love and wonder at all the times that I've believed otherwise. 

there's no choice now.

only love. 

and I tenderness that it offers.

Just a Little Offering

Just a little offering: 

it's just a little offering, although it certainly seems as if it's my entire world in the moment of surrender - and in a way, of course, it truly is, being the only way of life I've come to know. This what A Course in Miracles calls the Holy Instant, a clear choice of letting go of my perception of others, and seeing with a true vision of who we really are. 

so what I offer is nothing at all. 

yet in an instant...

 the entirety of heaven is given in return

A Little Doubt

A little doubt: 

without need of preparation, no cleansing rite performed, we are as ready to receive a miracle as our willingness allows - and it only takes a little. A miracle here is simply a shift of perception, asking of ourselves to be willing see the world a different way, truthful to our  original values, and aligned with who we really are. This is where the Holy Instant comes in, just that brief of keeping aside our false narrative of being small and alone in an uncaring world and allowing ourselves to entertain a little doubt that this is truly so...

only a little doubt, 

and the Holy Spirit rushes in to fill this void. 

it's that simple.

 just be willing to be...what we already are. 

only love is real. 

nothing unreal exist.

and in this Holy Instant instant...we know exactly what we are.

A Holy Instant

A holy instant: 

first, let's entertain that it's a possibility, to consider that there's a moment within time where timelessness appears, a holy instant which transcends our every illusion of the world. So that's our little willingness, with just enough suspension of doubt for a miracle to be given, for grace to be revealed, and the entire is then world forgiven. 

it happens in an instant.

here's our prayer: 

may we see each other as holy, perhaps only for an instant, our past altogether dropped, and then the light of who we truly be revealed without a touch of time. This is our moment of forgiveness, a miracle beyond perception, and it's always available for those who wish see. 

may we be open to receive this holy instant.

now, always now.

amen.

Once More: 

and we're healed through what A Course in Miracles calls the Holy Instant, being just a moment when are private thoughts about the world fall aside and all that's left is the purity of who we truly are. This is eternity, with no touch of our dreaming of time, only seeming to last an instant. Yet it's here that we are revealed, reality is shown, and we're never quite the same after. 

the Holy Instant is who we are.

A Holy Instant

A holy instant: 

it's seldom that I revisit my drinking days, maybe a stray thought that briefly returns me to the years I spent in self-destruction. But mostly I'm just happy being here, alive, sober, and no longer with a wish to destroy myself through an alcoholic daze. 

yet sometimes, I consider how it came to happen.

awakening to sobriety.

indeed, that it was a holy instant when I stepped into a new life.

as if it was already present, simply waiting for me.

a single step was all that was asked for.

and that's truly the only way I can explain it, after a decade of heavy drinking an insight was imparted, a deep sense of knowing that this particular lifestyle was over - but only if I stepped towards a new direction that was being offered. Even slightly. I have no idea why I did it, taking that first hesitant step into another life that instantly transformed me.

but I did.

thankfully.

A Course in Miracles says that right now, each moment, is a holy instant. We can let go of all that binds us to any past event or live choice and instantly realize another life that's offered. Again, I don't know why I saw this so clearly, especially considering that I was far from sober at the time. A moment of grace is really all I can say about it, that, and of course adding that I'm eternally grateful that it occurred. 

maybe there's just no explanation that's needed it, 

grace after all, always comes unbidden.
