A Sacred Pause

A sacred pause: 

perhaps what we most need right now is a return to sabbath, maybe not even a whole day, but just a sacred moment shared between us. We are desperate for rest and don't even realize it. Not only are we deprived of sleep, something deeper too is missing, what A Course in Miracles would call the Holy Instant, a stillness so profound that nothing exist outside this restful moment. 

we're in need of a sacred pause.

this is available to us, always, and it's not just found on a mediation cushion, or an hour's service once a week. The Holy Instant is right now and we only have to extend it as a thought towards another. Anyone, regardless of creed or political party, family or stranger - it's available now, always now, and it's simply a matter of recognizing the essence of Christ that's shared between us. It's restful because that vast amount of energy used to maintain the entire thought system of the ego is momentarily suspended and the inherent love of our existence is allowed to shine through. We drop any pretense of being anything other than our truest, most loving selves. 

an eternity shared for just an instant.

our deepest rest.

available right now, 

only now...

and it begins here as I offer it to you.

to see the Christ in all, and as A Course in Miracles reminds me throughout its pages - this too is what I receive. So this Christmas my gift is to bring to mind this miracle within you. Today is indeed holy, a holiday of light, our illusions forgiven, thoughts of separation healed.

Truly helpful: 

to be truly helpful is to praise God, seeing past errors to the heart of Christ that beats in sync with one another. This is the language of A Course in Miracles, using terms that might nor resonate with some, but sincerely conveys the holiness of our encounters. Here, Christ is a state of mind that signifies our best and highest thought system, it's the pure light found within us all. Being truly helpful is finding God within another, even through their seemingly worst behavior, and this simple recognition is enough for our own salvation. On the level of form, bodies, perhaps nothing holy shows through -

but, and as to where we really are...there is great joy in heaven

we have praised God, 

indeed.

No error: 

so the directive is clear, do not see error, and the rest is simply practice. That's the nature of the forgiveness, or at least the radical means as offered by A Course in Miracles. Here, we asked to see no error, to not make it real, and look upon only the face of Christ within another. This isn't to bypass the level of form, it's looking deeper, past the temporariness of our surface concerns to the actuality of who we truly are. 

the Christ within me, 

reality,

clearly sees the face of Christ within you. 

and thus.... 

everything's forgiven/
