No surrender: it feels like we're asked to surrender, to relinquish control of our life and ask the Holy Spirit to now take over - yet really, we're not asked to do any such thing. We were never in charge of our lives, there was no real power at our command. Virtually all of the decisions we've ever made have been demands by the ego, a false belief system that truly has no control and blindly follows its every impulse and desire. The ego is simply a collection of thoughts that linger in a sense of self-importance. It doesn't really exist, at least not in any substantial way, and only serves its most immediate need of having a sense of power and control each life event we encounter. but the ego doesn't truly exist beyond it's own self-belief system. so there's really nothing to surrender. we're only asked to see. and then to shift our thoughts towards a higher system, one that contains only the urge for peace and extends itself through loving actions. It's not surrender, but a remembering of the only true option that's available to us, one that serves our highest needs. there's no surrender here... just love. and it's this that we remember. ~ I love you, Eric
