Completely of the Heart

Completely of the heart:

eventually, it all becomes a path completely of the heart, simply so - it's all forgiveness. And that's it, really, an entirety of spiritual pursuit brought to a surrender. The truth is that I always knew that it would eventually come to this, intuitively, that every moment of meditation, each particular yoga pose and mindful breath, it was all leading me towards a life of continuous forgiveness.

awakening, more so now than ever...

completely to the heart.

Meaningless World

Meaningless world:

and the meaning is always and only love, that's it completely, and no other meaning exist aside from this reality. That's the simplicity of the early lessons in A Course in miracles, to first unravel our belief in the meaningless world that the ego has created -

and then to see that only love itself is real.

that's it.

the true meaning of the world...is always, only,

love.

and so we proceed from there, allowing love to now dictate the message, unconcerned with the trivial chase of meaningless things. Our mission is to heal a fractured world, our only purpose is to love. Nothing else will ever bring us to fulfillment. It's how we finally reveal meaning to ourselves and others, through reversing a world inherited from ego and then revealing the very fabric of love that has always existed underneath, sensed, yet mostly unnoticed through the busyness of living.

until now.

God did not create a meaningless world.

we did.

ego.

but the world we see is an illusion, real in the sense of it's sorrow and pain, it's brief joys, and the objects that we perceive. Yet illusory just the same. We only see reality by dismissing what is unreal, the meaningless, all that is ever changing, forgiving each unloving that traps us in the ego.

it's not about belief.

it's about finally knowing, seeing...

only love is real.

and nothing unreal exist.

Impetus

Impetus:

the impetus for A Course in Miracles began with a simple question between the scribe, Helen Schucman and her colleague William Thetford - "there must be a better way?" he asked her, and that was somehow the beginning of an extraordinary flow words that were dictated to Helen over the next several years. The Course itself claims this is the voice of Jesus offering a correction to his original words, clearing away the clouds of mistaken perceptions surrounding his teaching. Regardless if this is true or not, the Course does a remarkable job of liberating our minds from the tyranny of the ego.

but only if we ask for a better way.

we all have our own impetus for change, emotional trauma for some, physical pain, and for so many of us, simply reaching a point of quiet despair concerning everyday life. We just finally reach a point where the only question asked is the same as Thetford's -

there has to be a better way.

and there is.

but only if we ask for the possibility of one.

that's the impetus of our greatest change, simply asking.

nothing more.

and then to listen to the quiet voice...

providing us the answer.

Smallest Act

Smallest act:

how easy it is to be kind, it's a natural, instinctive urge to cooperate with others, and yet it's now been stifled and less expressed through the age of social media. It's easier to be clever and cruel apparently, or at least it sometimes seems that way. But we can reverse the trend, returning to the easiest path of kindness and extending love to others.

it's just one mindful act away.

repeated often.

until the world is changed.

here's the thing, we believe that social media keeps us anonymous, our true self hidden from others, and that we're able to get away with just a little bit of cruelty. But in actuality we're really more exposed, our masks slip aside and the world sees the fear of our projections. Every mindless act is the ego's stance of separation, a yell for recognition at how special we believe we are. It's also a cry for help, asking someone, anyone, for the smallest act of kindness so the facade of cruelty can be laid aside. So with this, each gesture of love we offer in return to others is an opportunity to heal the world.

one person at a time.

repeated often.

even if it seems to take forever.

but in reality, one person healed, one small gesture of love returned against pettiness and cruelty - completely mends a fractured world. We just don't see it yet. That's the nature of faith, knowing that the small takes care of the large, one person represents the whole, and that eternity of found right now. There's no other place, no other time...no others.

and so the smallest act of kindness -

heals the world.

Forgiven World

Forgiven world:

the forgiven world, so beautiful in appearance, shimmering in the light of grace and love. This an image given to us in chapter 17 of A Course in Miracle, that at a certain point through our continuous practice of forgiveness - the real world emerges from the haze of our fearful perceptions. We've healed our every projection and reality shines through.

a forgiven world is seen...at last.

is it possible?

I don't know, and I'm not even sure it matters. My own small world is now transformed, slightly so right now, but still significant in appearance and how I navigate through it. The amazing thing is how easy it is, almost effortless in a way, and it's because life is still happening, plenty of things still call for me to instantly forgive. So I've had plenty of practice. We all our work to do. And life makes sure that we'll always be able to perfect our craft of forgiveness.

yet each moment of forgiveness, every instant given to the sake of love - and a bit more of that holy light shines through. I see it often now, a soft illumination guides me on my way. I sense a hidden beauty just beneath the harshness of my initial perceptions of some events, situation, and yes, still, even certain people. Slowly, slowly...there's a seeing of a forgiven world.

and a light that calls for me to continue.

one moment at a time.

Stories

Stories:

at this point in my life I'm done with stories, or at least getting myself overly involved in the stories of the world. By this I don't mean to imply that I don't care for others and their concerns. It's that things have simplified for me considerably, joyfully so, and I find myself forgiving easier, returning love to pretty much all that's offered, and more ready to let go of everything that doesn't seem to serve me. There's just no need to over complicate my life with stories.

not even a better one.

and that's what often seems to happen, we upgrade, believing that another belief or philosophy will bring us freedom. We're chasing truth at the cost of joy, adding layers of stories to already existing stories, and then complicating the simplicity of the present moment. This is feeding a spiritual addiction that only keeps us trapped within another story, always expanding to hold one more secret truth that fails to truly set us free.

the truth is - there is no better story

just a different one.

and joy is only found right now.

this moment.

alone.

so with this, at a certain point in my life, there has a comes a great surrender, relinquishing story after story, letting go of versions of truth and settling into a life of continuous forgiveness.Everything else has remained the same, meditation and yoga still a joyful practice, and I'm open to explore different stories than my own. I just don't buy into them, no version of truth is more vital than what's found within a moment of real forgiveness.

and that's what always brings me home.

it's the peace of letting go.

forgiving along the way.

A New Cosmology

A new Cosmology:

if we need a cosmology, a story of the world's creation and why things are the way they are right now, then A Course in Miracles provides one that has a certain logic. The great metaphysical question that sparks an inner fire to question God is why create a world of such violence and discord? A world that allows for children to starve and so many people to suffer?

and the answer is -

God didn't create this world.

we did.

a brief thought of separation crept into the seamlessness of reality and caused a rift. But only as a dream, a nightmare really, an ego's birth and then it's vision of a world. God had nothing to do with it - then or now. It's all an illusion, yet obviously a persistence one. So God is blameless, and of course, so are we, it would be ridiculous to blame a character of a dream for its content.

so we are guiltless.

innocent.

fast a asleep within the infinite embrace of God.

dreaming of chaos.

and it's about time that we awake.

how?

through forgiveness and the extension of love, by refusing to blame another guiltless dream character for the condition of the world. We even forgive ourselves for the illusory version of God that we created and open ourselves once more to divine presence, the reality of God, oneness expressed though unconditional love. That's how we wake up. Simple. But not easy. Because again, the dream's persistent, lulling us continuously back to sleep.

yet reality is more persistent still.

it's a re-awakening into love.

a brand new cosmology...

happening right now.
