To Truly See You

To truly see you:

what if we had a day, a terrible day when communication was a struggle, almost impossible at times, and we just couldn't connect with others no matter how hard we tried. And what if this day then stretched out into a lifetime. We've all been misunderstood, and sometimes we've been blessed with the infinite patience of someone who simply understands that there's a struggle going on, no matter how deeply buried beneath the false story we've shown the world.

lesson 43 of A Course in Miracles:

God is my Source, I cannot see apart from Him.

and there is is, an imperative, if God is my source then my directive is to see from this point onward, with no exceptions made. Simple. And, of course, not easy. Yet life gives me ample opportunity to practice, as well as to sometimes be the lesson for others. My role is to continuously see the face of Christ within others, peeking through whatever difficult guise they might offer, listening with intent to the soft plea of their heart to be heard beneath both of our ego's clamor.

God is my Source.

and you, my most troubled friend...

are my opportunity to know this, deeply so.

but only if I choose to truly see you.

I love you, Eric

Unraveled

Unraveled:

those first few lessons from the workbook of A Course in Miracles are a great undoing, our entire thought system is literally unraveled and then exposed as nothing more than a self imposed dream. A night mare really, as it traps us within an illusory world of endless conflict, turmoil, and a sense of separation from each other. It's little wonder that so few ever make it past those early lessons. No one wants to see the world this way - although it's exactly how it is.

and it's our creation.

yet it's also our salvation, as now we begin examine the thought-system that brought us here, letting go of ego's hold on how we view the world and seeing things in an entirely different fashion. Once undone, or even unraveled just a little, we're ready to see reality, a glimpse perhaps, but enough to truly know there has to be a better way.

and there is.

we could see peace instead of this.

as simple as it sounds,

it's true.

we could reinvent the world...right now.

it's just a single thought away.

above all else -

we wish to see things different...and so we do.

The Greatest Commandment

The greatest commandment:

when Jesus was asked of the greatest commandment it was a two part reply - to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind, placing worship of the divine above all else. The second part was a clear directive to love others as we love ourselves.Truly a task worthy of a Christian, and one that I've long wondered if we're capable of achieving, indeed, if we've even bothered to try.

my consideration is this,

that we've succeeded on both accounts.

although not in the way imagined.

what's happened is that we've made God an object to be worshiped, materialistic, and a figurehead that resembles more our ego than anything truly divine. We worships images, possessions, and items, all at the expense of an all inclusive spirit. This is what we call God now, false idols that compromise our soul, leaving us void of any deep realization of our source.

yet we certainly obey the above commandment...

fully worshiping the image that we've made.

as for loving others as we love ourselves?

this too is obeyed.

our self love is only on the surface, there's little contact with our divine nature, no real belief that we are always connected to the source of our creation. We love others as we love ourselves and this is sadly only a mere token of our true depth of love.

but the commandment is obeyed at least.

however,

there is a solution.

an inner revolution of worship.

we just need to remember who we really are.

to look within,

falling in love

heart

soul

mind.

seeing that there are no others apart from us -

no separation from the divine.

and only love is real.
