Original Mantra

The only and original mantra is silence - an absence of sound so complete that every thought and word emerges first in subtle vibration, as if to carry just a bit further the holiness of their origin. Our voice is an instrument that lends itself as a caress through silent grounds. To be truly mindful is not to be without thought or in giving no attention to passing sounds, but to note the ever present spaciousness that remains still, deeply silent, and allowing - all things again settle in this. It's who we are and all we have to do to remember this - is to listen.

Untouched By World

We remain untouched by the world - yet only so in the pure light of our awareness. Our truth is that there is a singular reality of existence. Everything is simply the appearance of One. In this regard the world is no more separate from us than air against our skin, we find ourselves as subtle layers of it all, spaciousness dancing with itself in given form. We remain untouched for there is nothing apart from us, an embrace of one thing against itself in unconditional acceptance and love. Everything belongs - there is nowhere else for things to be.
It's all in perfect order.

~
Through distance we see that even a mark to designate arrival is still embraced by the immeasurable. A runner is always in the middle of that in which they seek to know.

Eric

Less Of Me

Touched by sun, and I am again nothing other than a particle of light, observing the sky and I am joined as passing cloud. There is less of me then I once believed - yet more to my existence than thoughts alone could hold.

~
Running - and distance still remains. It all fits in one existence.

Peace,
Eric

My Own Headless Sutra

It's a sutra of my own understanding - a returned view opened in display. There is my absence in form, a clear space of headless wonder, and too the world at once in vivid detail. My own pleasure is to find the mark of my emergence and back again to formless nature, to see at no point is one separate from the other, I am the capacity to serve the world in details. It's my own headless sutra - seeing, and giving rise to all that's seen.

~
The Buddhist Heart Sutra provides us with the allowance of form being no less than its own formless nature and reversed again in the same understanding. As form, we are not met by distance, but a solid part of its embrace. There is no place untouched by our existence.

Peace,
Eric

We're Seeing

The directive is to see - and in this light we're shown exactly who we are. Yet it's a subtle trick we play, believing proof is found by object and not simply by sight alone. The truth is that we are the seeing, an open view laid out directly from the source of all. It's a meditation of the obvious, what's happening now - from sight, to sound, and every thought - occurs within a headless realm. There is no seer apart from scene. There's only this - and the awareness that it's so. We're seeing.

~
There is no step apart from distance.

Eric

Shifting Perspective

Shifting perspective - we are undone in favor of the world. It's the seamless view returned in our direction, no line found as the worlds departure and our own beginning, one thing appearing in shared existence to the next. It's who we are as seen in the absence of long imagined borders of thought and body. Shifting perspective - we trace sight directly to its source, searching for a hint to show us who we are. Nothing solid will be found. Yet still the world exists, still there is an aware understanding that right here is where the world belongs, and still we see it all as our own perfection.

~
While running - shift perspective from distance being a measured mark to be acquired, to simply allowing distance to unfold as our own spaciousness, ready to be explored.

Peace,
Eric

And Back Again Without A Moment Gone

So subtle in the suddenness of appearance...and now for
however long the moment lasts -

We find ourselves as
form.

~
There is always existence, never a moment where we are absent from the whole - even if our appearance as we are right now is brief in given form. This is truly a gift, right now we are at once clear abiding awareness, as well as a singular aspect unique within existence. To appreciate this, we can turn our attention back towards the beginning of our view, where nothing is found but the suddenness of the world and our own appearance. We come to form in such a subtle fashion from this empty space, first there's nothing but a wakeful understanding, and then we are, fully formed, living in the world of objects. Yet now we are fluid in this understanding, attention shifting to our own Heart Sutra of form/emptiness and back again without a moment gone. Now we're seeing.

~
Try this as meditation on the run - a shift of nothing but perspective: We are distance, as well as form in motion, traveling within aspects of our own self, and no place left to go.

Peace,
Eric
