Impossible Task

Impossible task:

it's that judging is an impossible task for the ego to perform, an obvious fact when explored sincerely, and being completely honest  with ourselves. Of course that's not easy for us to do at all, as we are quite literally addicted to our every point of view. As well, without a steady examination through the mind, practicing self inquiry, we never truly see the incomplete nature of our judgement's, how little we can truly know of any person or situation.

we are always biased in our view.

without even knowing it.

and so we have a world that's sharply divided by our judgement's, enemies of varying degrees, with even friends arranged in some particular order. What we're asked to do, according to A Course in Miracles, is to relinquish our judgement's by simply recognizing how often they play through the mind, being aware of the sharpness of their division. What we give up is the false belief that it's the ego which keeps us safe and that without it's safety net of judgement we would be at the mercy of an evil world. The truth is that it's impossible for the ego to accurately judge anything, and it only hurts when we believe the false and incomplete information that has been gathered. There's a much easier, a safer, way to navigate through the world - and that's giving this task to the Holy Spirit, a higher intelligence that always sees a complete and honest of every situation. This intelligence sees through every illusion, and guides us to the safety of our loving understanding -without fail.

here's the practice:

recognize our judgement's, gently, and with no added condemnation.

surrender each one to the Holy Spirit.

ask to see beyond illusions.

forgive them all.

it's how we heal the world.
